Derby County Football Club is a club steeped in history and tradition. Formed as an off-shoot of Derbyshire County Cricket Club, Derby County were among the 12 founder members of the Football League when it was initiated in 1888. The club moved to Pride Park Stadium in July 1997 when the ground was officially opened by Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh.
